You’re probably wondering: where’s the staple Gundam in the banner? Is Frost going to stop talking about Gundams and most things otaku?
Well, not really. It’s just that lately, having purchased a PSP Slim & Light, the handheld has been taking up much of my time…at least until the MG Unicorn Gundams arrive for me to build.
Lately, I’ve been looking up a lot of stuff regarding PSPs and custom firmware. Practically every PSP you might try to purchase here in the Philippines comes in CFW and it’s usually M33-2 or 3. Most of them are Slim & Light and there appears to be no shortage of any color in the Slim & Light line: lavender, baby blue, baby pink, silver, ceramic white and the classic piano black (which I have). I’ve been looking at customizing my XMB and will be trying out some stuff that I recently downloaded to see if I can give my XMB a different look from most.
For those who want to convert their PSP’s OFW (Official Firmware) into CFW (Custom Firmware), there’s one blogger that’s been a big help to me and I regularly check his site for updates on stuff. The place is called StyleMo.com and it’s run by a fellow Filipino named Dino Latoga. He claims that his blog was quite boring until he started writing about PSPs and custom firmware. Well, I must say, it’s quite an informative blog when it comes to converting to CFW.
His most recent post is regarding the announcement that Dark_Alex, the good chap who started the M33 craze, is back on the coding scene and is currently working on CFW 3.80 M33 which sports new visualizations as well as the features that are included in the latest OFW (i.e. internet radio). I can’t wait to see how the new CFW looks like.
In other PSP-related news, this March, Sony is releasing a 16Gb duo card. So if you think 4 or 8 gigs of memory isn’t enough to house all the games that you want to play at a time, then 16Gb is the card for you. It’s $300 a pop though.

I really have to give you props on how you do those black “blot” effects on the banner. Sadly, it really puts my basic cropping skills in Photoshop.
Thanks for the praise. Nevertheless, the credit is not entirely mine. Those are brushes made by Ariel*G and you can get copies of them in Deviantart.com.
I want a PSP Slim too to accompany my DS phat, but currently a new PC is top priority. Hopefully, I can sum up enough money before I stop with my temporary work and start a new course this new school year.
