Keita’s Gundam Exia SE and Exia Trans-Am Mode

Keita does it again! I mentioned in a previous blog entry that Keita was working on his upcoming masterpiece which is the Gundam Exia SE. Well, it’s finished and he added something that we (or at least I) didn’t expect: Trans Am Mode!

Gundam Exia is the main Gundam featured in Sunrise’s currently ongoing series – Gundam 00.

Comparison between Keita’s work and a regular 1/100 High Grade Gundam Exia.

Keita’s love for detail is reflected in his work here. Look at the green orbs all over the Exia’s body. They all either have the full Gundam name or GN Drive engraved within the orbs.

It’s piloted by a chap named Setsuna and it uses what is called the Seven Swords System. It also has something that is called the Trans-Am System which serves as some sort of limiter for the GN Drive, the main drive that runs the Gundams in this series. But when Trans-Am Mode is activated, here’s what happens according to Wikipedia:

Trans-Am System

A system that releases the full power of the GN Drive. The GN Drive is normally kept operating within a preset boundary, due to a lack of need for the higher output potential; however, when the Trans-Am System is activated, the full power of the GN Drive is utilized to saturate Exia with compressed GN particles. The concentration of energies turn Exia’s mobile suit frame pink/red and boosts Exia’s specs to 300%. Exia’s acceleration causes afterimages to appear. The trade-off, however, is that due to the release of the particles, Exia must recharge after using the Trans-Am System, lowering specs drastically during this time period. The system activated upon Aeolia Schenberg’s death, entrusting his legacy and ideals to the Gundam Meisters. In the model kits it is represented by red data lines along certain parts of the gundam, primarily on the black parts of the mobile suit, while the light grey places on the arms and legs become red.

The patience that he has in making these red lines which aren’t just painted on but engraved is really awesome.

It starts getting this red circuitry glowing around its body which is pretty cool in my opinion. Looking at the image above, do you think Keita’s going to put this baby up for auction in Yahoo Auctions Japan again like his Evolved Strike Freedom Gundam?
