This image is nothing short of epic. The should relatively be of the same height so locking arms in hand to hand combat should be easy. The same epic battle goes on in my desk, with the EVA-01 Type F throwing a left cross against the Gurren Lagann.

EVA vs. Gurren Lagann I don’t think so… Nice Illustration, but you gotta admit the scale of these two guys is way off. Here’s an example: An Eva could crush an entry plug in it’s fist and 3 people could fit in it’s hand. See the Evangelion New Type Art book for size reference.
height of Eva 01’s Knee. The kid was full size inside the skull that made up Gurren Laggen. Think about the proportions… Nice art though.
And at the same time, the Giga Drill Breaker is too powerful for T-Field can withstand it while Eva obviously lack an Certain Kill Technique, the regen rate also favour on Gurren as its can constant regenerate as see in the anime while Unit 01 can only do it in Berserk Mode and not that fast.
Even with the Shiva, i hardly imagine it can do any damage to something as big as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
One last thing, the pilot, no matter what you see, a spineless guy like Shinji stand no chance against Simon: “WHO THE HELL YOU THINK I AM !!”
