About

About The Site

This site is a Philippine blog that is mainly about most if not all things mecha from model kits, action figures, cartoons, conventions and the like. It also contains posts about all things otaku as well as other aspects of Japanese culture that fascinate the author.

Of course every now and then the author writes about personal stuff as well as other bits and pieces of news within his country and around the world that he feels like talking about.

The blog started in August 1, 2006 and has taken different directions ever since, tending to focus on mere text and links and then focusing more photos especially when the author had acquired a DSLR for better photos to post. Eventually, the blog has established itself as quick and simple reference to what’s up and about in the mecha anime, merchandise and toy scene with a smattering of figurines and other kawaii stuff.

The author also occasionally posts pictures of his acquired toys over the years that he’s been blogging.

The layout of the site is mainly a preset of WordPress.com, the blog’s current host but the other graphics and photos are all taken, edited or rendered by the author.

About The Author

I am Mark Parreñas and I am a natural born Filipino. I finished a degree in BS Management Information Systems in the Ateneo de Manila University and started working in a business process outsourcing company right after I graduated from college in 2005. I started off as a software functionality analyst and eventually moved up being a team leader of a global product database support team. I have always worked in the same company ever since.

I live within Metro Manila and if I’m not at home surfing the net, I can usually be found window shopping in hobby stores around the metro particularly those in Greenhills, San Juan where most of my favorite stops are located.

I also build the occasional model kit when I have the time, patience and resource to do so but lately, my fascination has been more towards action figures and chibi figurines.
