    came across your blog when i was trying to find a solution to my nano problem. you see, since my trusty black nano (yeah! the first versions in their shiny glass faces ROCK!) has been working fine with its version 1.0 software, i haven’t bothered updating it via iTunes. in retrospect, that might have been a mistake. in any case, i now have that stupid “firmware corrupted” error message thing. problem is, i AM using the original data cable and it’s STILL refusing to be restored. what happened was that i was suddenly unable to use the click-wheel (meaning, it doesn’t seem to respond when i “roll it” with my thumb). it also resets when i use the menu-center button press combo. in addition, it mysteriously resets whenever i shift the top button to hold and back.

    weirdest thing about it is that i managed to get all my music safely out of it (via senuti) and iTunes STILL displays (and plays!) all the songs stored in the nano. crap.

    all i wanna do is reset the damn thing and just put in my tunes again. and get on with my nano-dependent life. =)

    can you help me? or do i have to find a bloody applecenter? and pay them lots of money they don’t deserve. aaak.

    sorry kung ginawa kitang apple tech support. am pretty desperate though, and your nano problems sounded like they were pretty similar to mine.
